KARACHI, July 30: The fishing season starts on August 1 after a one-month break.

According to a statement issued by the Fishermen Cooperative Society (FCS) here on Wednesday, Quran Khwani will be held and special prayers offered at the K-II market hall of the Karachi Fish Harbour after Juma prayers on the eve of the resumption of fishing.

The seasonal ban on fishing is imposed for two months (June and July) every year but the period has been curtailed to one month this year.—APP
