QUETTA, July 28: Four employees of the provincial road and works department were kidnapped in Kanak area of Mastung district on Monday.

According to sources, sub-divisional officers Abdul Ghani and Mohammad Aslam, sub-engineer Salman Haq and head clerk Mohammad Ibrahim were going to Washak from Quetta when six armed men intercepted their vehicle near Kanak and captured them.

The kidnappers beat up the driver but let him to go.

The driver informed police in Mastung about the incident.

Law-enforcement personnel cordoned off the area from Kanak to Kalat and launched an operation to trace the employees.

Police sources told Dawn from Mastung that the forces were finding it difficult to look for the kidnapped people in the mountainous area.
