LAHORE, July 26: PML-Q’s Punjab senior vice-president Muhammad Basharat Raja has announced holding of Pakistan Muslim League Lawyers’ Convention to discuss the termination of hundreds of prosecutors.

The former provincial law minister described the step by the provincial government as an act of victimization in a statement issued here on Saturday.

He said that the prosecutors sacked had been recruited for a period of three years on an ad hoc basis under the provincial recruitment policy.

Mr Raja claimed that all recruitments had been made strictly in accordance with the rules without considering the political affiliation of candidates.

The provincial government, he said, had not done anything new by announcing to fill the posts of prosecutors through the Public Service Commission (PSC).
