ISLAMABAD, July 20: A man was stabbed to death and two others were injured when a group of eight youth attacked them after an overnight scuffle, police said here on Sunday.

Sub-inspector Falak Sher said the eight youngsters aged between 17 and 20 armed with daggers and steel knuckles attacked the three persons of the same age group at Sector G-7/4.

During the brawl, the attackers stabbed one of the three opponents, Zeeshan Zafar, and escaped from the scene leaving him in a pool of blood, he said. The injured were shifted to the hospital where Zafar died. The other two — Adil and Usman — are stated to be in stable condition, the SI said.

Falak Sher said all were children of low-ranking government officials residing in G-7/4. They had had a scuffle on Friday, as the accused group used to come in the area of complainants’ group to tease females having a walk.

The police registered a murder and attempted murder case on the complaint of the brother of the deceased, Kamran Zafar, against eight persons, SI Sher said, adding that the police were investigating and had also arrested the accused from different places.—Staff Reporter
