LAHORE, July 16: Mayo Hospital doctors will observe a two-hour strike daily from Thursday (today) to press the provincial government to reinstate their colleagues.

The health department had suspended seven Mayo doctors from service in connection with the death of a female patient on June 19.

The Young Doctors Association said on Wednesday that the doctors would not see patients in the hospital. However, the emergency ward would remain functional for 24 hours.

The association also demanded action against the people involved in manhandling of a lady doctor on June 19. It said they would continue their strike till the restoration of the doctors.
