Shahid helps bankers triumph

KARACHI, July 14: Shahid Hussain scored a fine 73 to help NIB Bank score a seven-wicket win over Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK) in the 7th AKU All-Karachi Cricket League tournament here on Sunday at the AKU Sports Centre ground.

GSK batted first and scored 176 in 25 overs with Mohammad Faisal (42) and Mohammad Aamir (41) the leading run-getters.

Zulfiqar Layri claimed three wickets.

In response, NIB Bank reached their target for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs. Shahid struck seven sixes and two fours in his match-winning knock. Salman Hafeez (56) also batted well for the victors.
