KHAIRPUR, July 11: Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur has formulated a new policy aimed at raising the standard of education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels of the affiliated colleges.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting presided over by SALU vice-chancellor Prof Dr Nilofer Shaikh with senior faculty members of the university on Friday.

The meeting decided to revise the current policy and introduce a quality based framework ensuring therein proper academic standards at various stages throughout the process of enrolment/registration to examinations.

The new framework would divide external candidates into two categories; regular students and private students.

The candidates will further be registered at the start of the academic session and the examinations will be conducted respectively for each category with special staff arrangements.

In this respect, necessary steps will be taken to streamline the course options with different on campus programmes.

The candidates will be offered more options in subjects at undergraduate level so that they may easily be admitted in relevant regular master programmes in the university.

The vice chancellor also formed a sub-committee which will prepare a draft proposal and work out details of how effectively these changes will take place in the existing system of education at affiliated colleges.
