HANGU, June 29: Unidentified men kidnapped nine officials of the water management department along with two vehicles here on Sunday.

According to sources, the officials were shifted to an unknown destination. They had gone to the Doaba area to inspect water courses when they were taken away along with the vehicles.

The kidnapped officials were identified as: water management district officer Masoodur Rehman, engineer Abdul Latif Gandapur, engineer Abdul Qadir, management officer Zulfiqar, Qaisar Raza, Akbar Jan, Shakirullah, Abdul Haleem and a private driver. An official said that the water management staffers were taken away from the area of councillor Raees Khan.

Doaba police said that they had not registered FIR as the officials had not disappeared from their area. No case had been registered in the Saddar and Hangu police stations either till filing of this report.—Correspondent
