LARKANA, May 27: One-window facility to provide pass books and agriculture loans to growers was inaugurated by DCO Abdul Aziz Uqaili at Taluka Mukhtairkar office on Tuesday.

Growers can now seek agriculture credit from this setup as representatives of all concerned departments will be present to facilitate creditors, the DCO said.

Similar points had been established throughout Larkana district with these to remain operational every Tuesday up to June 24, he said.

Agriculture Development Bank will provide credit within three days to growers along with preparing their pass books, he said adding the mark-up will be modest which will be paid after production of crops, he said.

DAM PROJECT: The All Pakistan Organisation of Small Traders and Cottage Industry’s Sindh Chapter welcomed the federal government’s announcement to shelve Kalabagh dam project and called for tapping alternate energy resources to meet demand.

Mashooque Jatoi, provincial president of the organisation in a statement said that the Kalabagh dam project was controversial and had been eroding the unity of nation and deepening differences among provinces.

He said traders of Sindh were ready to participate in constructing new power plants to generate electricity and face the crisis provided government extends the facilities similar to foreign investors.

He said traders and the government under joint ventures could surmount the power problem.
