HYDERABAD, May 22: Apropos a news item published in May 19 issue of daily Dawn and captioned “Doctors await promotion, Dr Niaz Memon and Dr Anwar Ismail Memon have denied that they talked to the newspaper’s Mirpurkhas correspondent about delay in promotion of 40 specialist doctors despite such orders by the previous Sindh caretaker government.

Dr Niaz Memon said that he had been promoted and

Dr Hanif Awan, who had fed the story to the correspondent, had unnecessarily included their names.

Dawn regrets the inadvertent error.
