THATTA, May 20: The court of First Civil Judge Thatta remanded Moulvi Nazeer Jarejo, a mosque prayer leader, for two-day custody to Thatta police for attempting to criminally assault a six-year-old girl student, on Monday.

The enraged crowd shaved off the eyebrows, head and moustaches of the Moulvi and were about to set him ablaze when saner elements intervened and handed over the accused to police.

Police lodged an FIR, produced the accused in court and got two-day remand.
