KHAR, May 16: The body of a soldier of Bajaur Scouts, who had been kidnapped by local militants about a week ago along with vehicles loaded with weapons, was found near the Pashat bazaar in Salarzai tehsil on Friday.

Khar political tehsildar Mawaz Khan said the soldier had been killed on Thursday night and his body was left in a deserted area near the bazaar.

The government arrested dozens of people of Salarzai tribe under the FCR after four vehicles of Bajaur Scouts carrying arms and ammunitions were seized by the local Taliban one week ago.

A jirga formed by the Salarzai elders failed to free the soldier.

A note, lying with the body read: “The soldier was killed to avenge to the Damadola missile attack by the US on a Taliban shelter”. It said that all supporters of US policies would meet the same fate.

The note also warned the tribal elders, Malaks and Khans against supporting the government and asked them to refrain from promoting the United States and government agenda.
