KARACHI, May 16: Rallies and demonstrations were held outside various mosques in the city after Juma prayers to condemn the Thursday attack in Bajaur Agency reportedly by a US drone in which more than 20 people were killed and many others wounded.

The main rally was held in Moosa Lane, Lyari, which was addressed by Laeeq Khan, Muslim Pervez, Yunus Barai and other JI leaders.

Describing the attack as “naked aggression”, they asked the government to do away with the policies pursued by President Pervez Musharraf, saying that no sovereign state could allow or tolerate such aggression on its soil by a foreign power.

They also deplored violation of Pakistani borders and killing of innocent people by foreign forces and attributed such incidents to the government’s pro-US policies.
