GUJRAT, April 29: A local court on Monday handed down death sentence on six counts to nine convicts, including Gujrat tehsil Nazim Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar Bhooch, for killing six people.

According to the prosecution, the convicts had shot dead their six rivals, including Haji Khaliq, to settle old score in Lalamusa in 1994.

Those convicted include tehsil Nazim Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar Bhooch, Shamraiz, Junaid, Aslam, Waris, Ashraf advocate, Ansar, Anwar and Hakim Ali.

The old enmity between two rival groups had so far claimed the lives of over 100 people.
