SUKKUR, May 13: Ghotki police booked 47 men of Shar tribe on Tuesday, following the killing of two men and kidnapping of four women of Bhutto clan from Khambra village near Ubauro on Monday.

According to reports, armed Shar tribesmen broke into the house of Jamal Din Bhutto and killed him and his nephew Muneer Hussain Bhutto on the spot while taking away dead bodies and four women — Zarina, wife of Rafiq Ahmed Bhutto, Ameeran, wife, and Rehana and Shabana, daughters of Fida Hussain Bhutto.

Heavy police contingent and people of Bhutto clan on information chased culprits and exchanged fire with them in the Katcha area of Machko. Two hours of firing claimed two lives of the rival group – Juno Shar and Budho Shar while rest managed to escape leaving behind three kidnapped women sans the fourth victim — Shabana — whom they took away with them.

Fida Hussain s/o Mohammed Malook Bhutto registered an FIR with Ubauro police against 37 nominated and 10 unknown accused. The booked included Sultan alias Sultoo Shar, Khamiso Shar, Deeno Shar, Mithoo Shar, Juman Shar, Siddiq Shar, Makhno Shar, Esso Shar, Jawan Shar and others with no arrests made so far.

Each tribe handed over two dead bodies to police which then were passed on to their elders. Despite persuasion by important personalities of the area, Shar men refused to return the girl.

The reason behind this ongoing feud between the two clans goes to 15 years back when they drew daggers on each other over a piece of land. It was an irony that this conflict had until now claimed 16 lives and left many injured along with the kidnapping of six women.

In the recent past also, both clans clashed wherein four people were killed and the same number of women kidnapped and later returned. No case had been registered.
