HYDERABAD, May 9: The Hyderabad Electric Company has launched an operation for recovery of massive dues against government and semi-government organisations and disconnected power supply of 230 major defaulters, including the TMAs, irrigation offices and residential colonies, according to the manager of the company’s Hyderabad circle-I.

According to an official handout, these connections would not be restored unless payment of outstanding dues was made in full.

He said that strict instructions have been issued to the five operation divisions of the circle to accelerate the pace of recovery and disconnect power supply to the defaulters in case of non-payment of outstanding dues.

Deputy commercial manager circle-I Hyderabad, Mehmood Ali Kaimkhani, said that an amount of Rs204.428 million was outstanding against the federal organisations in the five divisions of circle-I, while Rs1881.353 million was outstanding against provincial organisations adding that Rs1673.153 million were outstanding against domestic consumers.

Giving break-up of five divisions, he said in Gari Khata division, Rs510.137 million were outstanding against provincial organisations, Rs107.580 million against federal organisations and Rs91.175 million against domestic consumers.

In Latifabad division, he said, an amount of Rs757 million was outstanding against provincial organisations, Rs55.374 million against federal organisations and Rs365 million against domestic consumers.

In Tando Allahyar division, an amount of Rs68.755 million was outstanding against provincial organisations, Rs4.868 million against federal organisations and Rs149.40 million against domestic consumers.

In Digri division, Rs29.863 million was outstanding against provincial organisations, Rs3.84 million against federal organisations and Rs65.551 million against domestic consumers.In Mirpurkhas division, Rs515.596 million was outstanding against provincial government departments, Rs32.751 million against federal organisations and Rs181.625 million against domestic consumers.

The official said that an operation has also been launched against power thieves against whom FIRs were also being registered. He said the cooperation of the elected representatives of the people was also being sought in the recovery campaign.

He pointed out that the Hesco was a commercial organisation, therefore, the people should cooperate in at least clearing their outstanding dues.
