KARACHI, May 7: Five ships carrying containers, wheat, general cargo, chemical and iron ore and coal were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, three more ships with containers and crude oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.Eight ships, Maersk Denpasar, Kestrel-I, H.S Acacia, OXL Victory, Aktin, Sinar Agra, Barcelona Bright and Delight Victoria, were busy in loading and unloading containers, wheat, seeds, general cargo, palm oil, chemicals, iron ore and diesel oil.

A cargo volume of 73,365 tons comprising 69,789 tons of import and 3,576 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Maersk Ohio, Maersk Denpasar, Delight Victoria and Aktin sailed out while H.S Acacia and Sinar Agra were expected to depart.
