GUJRANWALA, May 5: Around 64 people deported from Turkey were arrested by the federal investigation agency (FIA) from the Islamabad airport and were brought back to Gujranwala here on Monday.

Reports said that the arrested people belonging to various districts of the division were sent to Greece by human agents after they took Rs600,000 per head.

It was learnt that human agents had these people crossed Iran and Turkey borders through their sub-agents. But, they were spotted and arrested by the border security as soon as they entered the Turkish territory. Before being deported they were sent to jail.

FIA additional director Hussain Asgher said that these deportees would be sent behind bars on judicial remand after being quizzed about their agents. Agency’s assistant director Syed Arif Bukhari said that agents who had sent these people abroad would soon be arrested.
