MIRAMSHAH, May 2: Protesting personnel of the Khasadar force on Friday rejected some concessions offered by the political administration and threatened to launch a movement from Sunday for acceptance of their demands.

Sources said the Khasadar personnel had convened a jirga of tribal elders and the local Taliban at Gora Qabristan on Sunday to discuss steps of resorting to blocking roads and disconnecting electricity to the troubled agency. The jirga is also expected to approve imposing a ban on contacts with officials of the political administration. The Khasadar personnel have been protesting for 15 days. The sources said elders and representatives who did not reach the jirga venue on Sunday would be fined.

On Friday, the political administration and representatives of the Khasadar force held separate jirgas to devise their future strategies. The jirga of the political administration was attended among others by Malak Inayat Khan, Malak Khanzeb, Malak Abdul Jabbar Khan, Malak Mohammad Afzal Khan Derpakhel, Malak Habibullah Khan Darpakhel, Malak Mohammad Rehman, Malak Haq Nawaz Zerki and Nakeem Khan. Subedars Taj Mohammad Dawar, Dawood Hamzarni, Bismilllah Jan, Malak Zaman and Nawab Khan.
