KARACHI, April 27: The Pak-istan Atomic Energy Commis-sion is upgrading its Atomic Energy Medical Centre (AEMC) at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

After upgradation and expansion, the AEMC will become one of the most advanced nuclear medical centre for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, allied diseases and heart ailments in the country, according to a statement issued here on Sunday.

PAEC spokesman Tariq Rashid put the total cost of the upgradation project at Rs414 million. The AEMC will provide its services to patients in collaboration with all JPMC departments and units, particularly the cancer unit.—APP
