GHAZI, April 25: A “public hearing” was held by a standing committee of various NGOs, to discuss the problems of the people affected by Ghazi Barotha Project here on Tuesday.

The representatives of Wapda, World Bank and many concerned institutions attended the meeting. The Nazims of Haripur and Ghazi, who were present on this occasion, referred to the sacrifices made by those people for Tarbela Dam and Ghazi Barotha Project and were now facing trials in the accountability court. The representatives demanded a judicial commission for investigation of the cases.

A charter of demand was presented at the end of the hearing.
