ISLAMABAD, April 19: PPP Senator and member of the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa said on Saturday that lawyers would not allow Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan to take part in by-elections.

Senator Khosa said hundreds of lawyers had been deprived of the opportunity to contest the general election because of his (Mr Ahsan’s) decision of boycotting it.

Senator Khosa, who spoke to the media after attending the PBC meeting, said the council had taken serious notice of Mr Ahsan’s decision to take part in the by-elections and served a notice, asking his explanation.

He said a man who had boycotted the general election despite requests by colleagues not to do so, had no moral authority to take part in the by-elections.
