KARACHI: Bomb hoax creates panic

Published April 19, 2008

KARACHI, April 18: A hoax bomb call created panic among people at a bank branch on Friday.

Mithadar police said staff of the bank branch in Mohammadi Plaza, near City Station, received an anonymous call at around 10am warning them that a bomb had been planted in the bank.

A large number of people present inside the building had to be evacuated before a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team thoroughly searched the entire building. However, it turned out to be a hoax.—PPI
