MIRPURKHAS, April 11: Scores of activists of civil society organisations and nationalist parties staged a demonstration outside the press club on Friday in protest against the killing of a Hindu youth from Mirpurkhas in Karachi on the pretext of blasphemy.

The protesters, including members of the Council for the Under Privileged Segments of Society, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party and Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, demanded that the government should order an impartial inquiry into the death of Jagdesh, a Hindu youth from Mirpurkhas, who was killed in Karachi a few days ago on the pretext of blasphemy.

They urged the government to take appropriate measures to provide protection to people including minorities. Jagdesh was working in a factory when he was brutally killed, they said.
