HYDERABAD, April 4: An activist and former vice chairman Town Committee Mirpur Bathoro, Mohammad Siddique Sohu as per his announcement has begun hunger strike unto death outside the press club over non-release of irrigation water in Ganj Bahar canal, on Friday.

Talking to reporters, he said he would not call off hunger strike unless water was released in the canal.

DEMO: A large number of Zounr community members of Hyderabad district staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Friday against the alleged victimisation of community members in Dadu district at the instance of Rafique Ahmed Jamali, MNA.

Rais Allah Bachayo Zounr, Rais Abdul Majeed, Rais Nazeer Ahmed and others said Zounr community during February 18 elections had supported PML-Q candidates for which they were being victimised.

They alleged Dadu police of ransacking the hotel of Sardar Ashiq Hussain Zounr and registering false cases against him and other members of Zounr community. They said this may lead to tribal conflict.

They demanded of the regional police officer of Hyderabad and Sindh government to take notice of these excesses and withdraw cases against Ashiq Hussain Zounr and other community members.
