They said the investigation police took into custody the house owner, Shabana, 40, her teenaged son, Shamir, and a police constable, Ramzan.

The victim’s body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Paramedical sources said the victim, a minibus driver by profession hailing from southern Punjab, was shot a single bullet to his temple which went through his skull.

The victim’s younger brother, Ali, told Dawn that the victim had been living with him for the past one year after leaving their parental house.

He said that his brother had solemnized Nikah with Shabana’s sister, Farzana, but later he dissolved his marriage following differences with his in-laws.

He said that his brother, however, kept on visiting Farzana at her house which was located in front of their parental house.

The victim’s brother said that Abid went to Shabana’s house late on Friday night after he received a call from her on his cellular phone. “We came out of the house after we heard a shot and ran into Shabana’s house to find Abid shot dead with the woman and her son present on the scene,” he added.

Ali, an garment factory worker, said that the family had fixed the second marriage of Abid after three months.
