HYDERABAD, March 5: Pasban has given a call for countrywide general strike on March 7 in protest against the republication of blasphemous cartoons by Danish print media.

Pasban leaders said at a news conference at the press club on Wednesday that the republication of blasphemous cartoons was an open challenge to the Muslim world and it was time for all the Muslims to send a clear message to Denmark and other western countries that they were ready to die protecting the honour of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

They appealed to all the political parties, social welfare organisations, business community and transporters to play their part in making the March 7 strike a success.

They described the republication of cartoons as a conspiracy against Islam in which the rest of the western countries were also privy and called upon rulers and the Muslim world to boycott the products of western countries.
