NAWABSHAH, March 4: District police witnessed major reshuffle immediately after announcement of formation of new Sindh government on Monday evening with as many as four SHOs and a traffic sergeant replaced.
Ghulam Sarwar Zardari was posted as SHO of A-section police station, Inayatullah Jamali was posted as SHO of B-section police station, Bisharat Mallah was made SHO of taluka police station, Mureed Hyder Jalbani was posted as SHO of Daur police station and Zameer Zardari was posted as new traffic sergeant.
HUNGER STRIKE: Growers continued token hunger strike outside the press club on Tuesday in protest against acute shortage of water in Jado Minor and Malwah Branch.
The protesters told journalists that despite making several complaints, the executive engineer of Dad irrigation division was not providing them water.
They said that they were bearing huge losses due to unavailability of water and demanded that irrigation high-ups solve their problem.
UC NAZIM: The nazim of union council-5 of Nawabshah demanded on Tuesday that the taluka municipal administration should solve people’s problems on a priority basis.
Dr Naeemul Arfeen, the MQM-backed UC nazim, said that the main problems included issuance of order letters for additional TMA staff appointed by the government of Sindh, high quality spray for prevention of malaria and other diseases in all parts of the city and appointment of trained technician for usage of chlorine in water tanks.
He said that increasing number of stray dogs was also a grave problem, which had put people’s lives in jeopardy.
The administration should launch an effective campaign to eliminate dogs, he said.
