KOHAT, Feb 24: A man was killed and his two sons suffered serious injuries when a car was blown up at the entrance of a petrol pump on Bannu Road late on Sunday.

Bomb disposal squad personnel said that a five kilogram explosive device with a timer had been planted in the car, which blew up as it left the filling station. The man identified as Sultan died on the spot and his two sons, Muzammal and Mudassar, sustained serious injuries.

The victim’s family said Sultan was brother of the owner of the filing station and had no enmity with anyone.

The injured were taken to the KDA medical complex and doctors referred Muzzamal to the Lady Reading Hospital.

The car was destroyed in the blast. Two other people were injured and a vehicle parked at the station was partially damaged.
