THATTA, Feb 17: A former MPA and the district president of PPP women wing, Humera Alwani, has claimed that the murder of assistant presiding officer, Pir Bux Sabro, by a policeman was a conspiracy aimed at creating an atmosphere for low turnout and help the king’s party candidates in the district.

Humera, a party candidate on reserved seat, told journalists here at the press club that her party had already apprised the Election Commission of Pakistan about such apprehensions and demanded deployment of army at all the polling stations of the district.

She said that now to hush up the matter, the police were trying to bargain with the parents of the deceased and offering Rs300,000 to the family. They were forcing the family to accept the blood money and keep silent, she said.

Humera said possibilities of volcanic conditions on polls day could not be ruled out as the kings party - Shirazi group- has managed henchmen and weapons to win the election by hook or by crook.

She demanded immediate deployment of army at all the polling stations of the district.
