SUKKUR: Victims asked to compromise

Published February 16, 2008

SUKKUR, Feb 15: The two brothers who were tortured by some influential people of Pano Akil on Wednesday were being pressurised to reach a compromise with the accused while no FIR has been registered of the incident.

Haji Malik and Abdul Khaliq Malik, the residents of village Ropahro near Pano Akil, were allegedly tortured and humiliated by Asif Mahar, son of Shahnawaz Mahar, the taluka nazim of Pano Akil, and his henchmen.

On Thursday the brothers hold a press conference to narrate their ordeal.

Sources said some relatives of the Pano Akil taluka nazim had stopped them from going to the police station and pressurised them to bury the matter.

However, brothers have threatened to commit self-immolation if denied justice.
