KHAIRPUR, Feb 14: The responsibility of caretakers is to hold free, fair, and transparent elections and not offer jobs and initiate development works, said President Sindh PPP and candidate for PS-29, Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

Addressing a public meeting in Khairpur city on Wednesday, he said according to information, fake job orders were being distributed by PML-Q.

He said if such orders were actually issued by concerned departments then it was a violation of law. He said the PPP workers were being killed and injured but no FIRs were lodged.

He said the PML-Q had no existence in Sindh but were displaying arms. He said law and order situation in Sindh had worsened to such an extent that even caretaker Chief Minister Sindh cannot move one kilometre without police security.

He said caretaker CM’s visit to some districts and his meeting with leaders of certain PPP opponent political parties was condemnable. He said though pre-poll rigging was being done but PPP candidates will sweep seats in Sindh.

Among others, PPP candidate for NA-215, Nawab Khan Wassan and former District Nazim Khairpur, Nafisa Shah also spoke on the occasion.kidnapped: Two persons were kidnapped near Madd, Taluka Sobhodero, on Wednesday night.

Reports said two peasants Waseem Solangi and Mujahid Hussain Desi were on their agricultural land near Madd when seven armed men kidnapped them.

When the two peasants did not return to their homes till Thursday, their relatives reached the place of incident and found footprints of dacoits and informed Sobhodero police. Villagers and police followed kidnappers’ footprints which led towards katcha area.

A complete shutter down strike was observed in Khuhra on Thursday. A large number of people and traders marched on main roads of the town and staged a demonstration against series of incidents of kidnapping from Khuhra town and adverse law and order situation.

They raised slogans against district administration and police.
