SUKKUR, Feb 14: Henchmen and son of a local big-wig kidnapped and tortured two farmer bothers and before releasing them, shaved their heads, blackened their faces, paraded them in public in village Ropahro near Pano Akil on Wednesday.

Haji Malik and his brother Abdul Khaliq Malik, along with local people staged a demonstration outside the press club against the incident.

Talking to media at the press club they claimed that Asif Mahar, son of Shahnawaz Mahar, the Pano Akil taluka nazim, and others asked them to stop irrigating their land and over their refusal they kidnapped them.

They took them to the house of Haji Khushi Mohammad Mahar, where they were tortured mercilessly. The brothers demanded that the authorities give them justice.

Shahnawaz Mahar could not be reached for his version of the incident.—Correspondent
