KARACHI, Feb 11: A day care centre for the children of working women is functioning at the directorate of the Sindh government’s women development department on Sharea Faisal.

This was stated by the department in a press release sent to Dawn on Monday. According to the press release, the department has also asked the labour & industries department and DCOs for facilities under Section 33 Q-2 of the Factories Act and called for legislation on a wider coverage of the Act to ensure adequate facilities for the working women’s children in other organisations.

The department also plans to set up at least one centre in each district of the province, besides in all 18 towns of the metropolis.
