SWAT, Feb 10: About 36 militants, including two would-be suicide bombers, were arrested and a large quantity of arms and ammunition was seized during a search operation in Kabal tehsil on Sunday.

According to the Swat Media Centre, security forces have resumed the operation early in the morning in Thutano Bandai, Teghak Banbai, Galeuch, Sersanai and Manja areas and seized weapons, including Kalashnikovs, pistols, shot guns, hand-grenades, detonators and live rounds.

The forces pounded militant hideouts and arrested two boys aged between 15 and 18 years who allegedly had received training for carrying out suicide attacks.

Another 34 suspected militants loyal to radical cleric Maulana Fazlullah were detained during the operation.

Curfew remained in force in all the areas of Kabal.
