QUETTA, Feb 5: An unidentified man was killed on Tuesday after explosives he was carrying accidently exploded in the Khilji Colony.

Police said the explosives exploded, killing the man on the spot.

“It is premature to say that he was a suicide bomber,” DIG Operations Rehmatullah Nizai said, adding that initial investigations had revealed that the man was carrying explosives for planting them somewhere in the Khiliji Colony.

“The force of the blast tore the man’s body to pieces and police have collected limbs from a wide area,” senior police officers said.

Police have found no suicide jacket worn by suicide bombers. Though the blast blew up part of the man’s face, the upper part of his body remained intact, confirming that he was not a suicide attacker.

“We are investigating all aspects,” Mr Nizai said.
