KARACHI, Feb 3: Federal Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Nisar A. Memon has reiterated that Pakistan wants to resolve its disputes with India through negotiations.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of a senior journalist Syed Yousuf Ali’s book ‘Lahu lahoo Lebanon’ here on Sunday, the minister pointed out that all outstanding issues between the two countries, including the core issue of Kashmir, would be resolved through negotiations.

Mr Memon said that India had no justification to keep 800,000 to one million troops in the occupied Kashmir when the outstanding issues between the two countries could be resolved through talks.

He said that Muslim countries would have to strengthen their economies to make a rapid headway in the comity of nations. He said President Musharraf had asked the developed countries to provide market access to the Muslim countries to root out terrorism. To achieve a lasting peace in the world, the US and the European countries should help resolve the regional issues, he said.—APP
