GHALANAI, Jan 30: A tribal elder was killed here on Wednesday while there was no clue to his son and another malak of the Mohmand Agency, who were kidnapped by armed persons from Yaka Ghund on Tuesday.

The unidentified persons kidnapped tribal elder Malak Mohammad Afzal, his son Sayed Asghar and an associate Malak Mir Alam from Yaka Ghund area on Tuesday and shifted them to undisclosed location. However, the kidnappers allegedly killed Malak Mohammad Afzal Khan and threw his body near Kung village of tehsil Khwayzai, Mohmand Agency. It is believed that the other two kidnapped persons are still in their captivity.

Meanwhile, unidentified outlaws kidnapped an officer of the Agency Population and Family Planning department, Abdul Aziz, his driver Aftab along with their vehicle bearing registration number PRA 0688 from the same area and shifted them to undisclosed place on Wednesday. Another person identified as Nisar was also sated to be kidnapped from Michni Pul and there was no report of his whereabouts.

The people of the tribal area have expressed deep concern at the rapid increase in the incidents of kidnapping, car snatching and over all law and order situation. The government employees have stopped coming to the offices in the troubled areas due to worsening security situation in the area.
