LAHORE, Jan 23: Two second half goals by winger Amir Hamza helped Pak Elecktron Limited (PEL) recover and beat Pakistan Public Works Department, Karachi, 3-2 in the Super Six of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) league, being played at the Model Town Football Academy ground here on Tuesday.

PWD were the first ones to settle down when they stunned PEL with two sparkling goals within a span of 43 seconds. The Karachi-based team with Tariq Omar as its manager opened the scoring in the 20th minute when stopper Mobeen went up to take a free kick. His forceful drive kissed the bar to spin back behind the bemused goalkeeper Basit. Hardly 43 seconds after that, main striker Gul Muhammad accelerated on a pass by winger Muhammad Jan and rifled the angular drive past Basit.

PEL trailing 2-0 at interval were in a desperate situation. But then they re-entered the field with a new game plan to turn the tables on PWD.

They finally pulled one back through spearhead Muneer in the 73rd minute who capitalised on a pass by Sagheer to steer the ball past keeper Sajid.

Ten minutes later winger Amir went on his own to make the score 2-2.

Amir came into the picture again in the 88th minute when he went after midfielder Rashad’s pass to beat Sajid again.
