KARACHI, Jan 24: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief, Altaf Hussain, has asked party leaders and workers to play their role in making the Feb 18 general election a peaceful event.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, the MQM chief said this while chairing a meeting at the party’s international secretariat in London the other day.

The meeting was attended by Karachi Nazim Mustafa Kamal, Convener Coordination Committee Dr Imran Farooq and others.

Mr Hussain directed all office-bearers, workers and party candidates to demonstrate patience and not to react to any provocative statements of opponents in order to play a positive role in the holding of the polls.
