NAWABSHAH: Cold wave grips Nawabshah

Published January 14, 2008

NAWABSHAH, Jan 13: Cold wave continued in Nawabshah and adjoining areas on Sunday as people continued to brave unannounced power loadshedding. The local Met office recorded minimum temperature at 4 degree Celsius and maximum at 20.

Due to hours-long loadshedding in peak hours, the people are facing immense difficulties and women have to cook food in the light of candles. Frequent power outage has disturbed trade activities and water supply.

Power supply remained suspended in the district from 6am to 9am and between 7pm and 9:30pm on Saturday and from 11am till 1pm on Sunday.

Local grid station staff said that they had received orders from the Regional Control Centre of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company to shutdown the feeders.

The Regional Control Centre, they added, sometimes suspended supply from Dadu grid station.
