LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), Jan 12: Traffic remained suspended on the Peshawar-Torkham Road for nearly three hours on Saturday when tribesmen held a demonstration there against power loadshedding.

The tribesmen had blocked the road at two points.

The unannounced loadshedding had affected the water supply system, compelling the area residents to buy water from tankers.

A snowfall on Wednesday night and severe cold wave have compounded the problems of people who have already been facing a shortage of gas cylinders.

The officials of the local administration managed to calm down the protesting tribesmen by convincing them that the loadshedding was a country-wide problem.
