JAFFARABAD, Dec 28: Mobs set on fire several government offices and blocked roads in Jaffarabad, Usta Mohammad and adjacent areas on Friday.

A number of banks, railway station, Nadra office, telephone exchange, utility store and some private offices were also set ablaze.

Police used teargas and baton charge to disperse them.

Meanwhile, markets and shopping centres in all major cities of Balochistan remained closed and roads and streets looked deserted in the aftermath of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination.

Angry protesters set ablaze election posters and burned tyres on roads. A large number of security forces’ personnel had been deployed in Quetta, Loralai, Khuzdar, Zhob and other parts of the province.—APP
