MIRPURKHAS: Nine hurt in gunfire

MIRPURKHAS: Nine people were injured in exchange of gunfire at Nagarparkar town, district Tharparkar on Friday.

Reports said that an unruly mob was looting shops in a market when a group of armed men reached there and resorted to aerial firing in which nine people were injured.

The injured were identified as Ali Nawaz Chakar, Mohammad Shareef, Mumtaz Ali, Ayaz Ali, Bhawal Khan, Basheer Ahmed, Ali Ahmed Palli, Qasim Faqeer and Bharat Meghwar.

They were shifted to a nearby hospital.

Panic gripped the Umerkot town as all the markets and bazaars were closed in protest.

Police were patrolling to control the law and order situation.

Miscreants looted various shops and pan cabins.

Enraged protesters also resorted to aerial firing in different parts of Umerkot.
