HYDERABAD, Dec 23: A five- member delegation of “International Republican Institute” (IRI) called on district nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil and discussed election related matters with him here on Friday.

The team comprised Mr Oney Boon Keong (Malaysia), Crispy Kaheru (Uganda), Ms Roosaini (Singapore), Ms Sameera (USA) and Zulfiqar Halepoto.

District Naib Nazim Zafar Rajput, DCO Aftab Ahmed Khatri and DPO Imran Shoukat were also present on the occasion.

The nazim told the observers that in accordance with the notification, the district government is absolutely neutral and is facilitating all the political parties in a legal manner to hold their election meetings.

In this context he referred to the recent PPP meeting which was addressed by Ms Benazir Bhutto.

Kanwar Naveed Jamil further said that APDM meeting was also scheduled to be held in a few days in Hyderabad.

He said a foolproof security plan has also been put in place to ensure free, fair, impartial and transparent elections.

The observers reportedly expressed satisfaction over the election arrangements.
