MARDAN, April 1: A World Bank team met the officials concerned, and discussed educational system, and the position and opinion of the elected people in this connection.

District Coordinating Officer (DCO) Zahoor Khalil told Dawn that the other matters about the educational system were also discussed.

He said revamping of science, technical education at secondary level, improvement of technical education in other institutions, early child education, adult literacy rate, rehabilitation of various institutions and starting of vocational centres in the district were also discussed.  

He said Mardan District had stood third in the province, and Rs11.9 million funds for the district had been allocated, which he hoped would solve many problems of the people.

The delegation comprised Dr Hamid Mukhtar, Miss Sofia Shahid and Miss Shaheen while Miss Tehseen Syed, senior social sector specialist, led the team.
