QUETTA, Dec 12: A Gwadar police official was killed and two personnel were injured in a hand-grenade attack in the Hub industrial town on Wednesday night.

“Deputy Superintendent of Gwadar police Abdul Rub Lasi died after he had been hit by grenade fragments,” Abdullah Afridi, a senior officer of Hub police said on telephone.

Sources said that Mr Lassi had arrived in Hub in connection with some official work two days ago.

He was in the house of police officer Azhar Malik at the time of the attack.

The hand-grenade was hurled by two people on a motorcycle, police sources said.

The injured men — Inder Lal and Mohammad — were taken to the Jam Ghulam Qadir Hospital.

A spokesman for the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army Bebargh Baloch claimed responsibility for the attack.
