National Women’s Squash

HYDERABAD, Nov 24: Defending champion Maria Toor of Wapda and Zoya Khalid of Army reached the final of the 2nd Hyderabad National Women’s Open Squash 2007 championship on Saturday at the Hyderabad Gymkhana Squash Complex.

In the first semi-final which lasted only 15 minutes, Maria registered an easy victory (9-2, 9-2 and 9-0) over Habiba Khan of Sindh.

The second semi-final saw Zoya Khalid pulling off an upset by defeating the second seed Saima Shaukat of Wapda 9-2, 9-4 and 9-5. The final between Maria Toor and Zoya Khalid will be played on Sunday at 3:30pm.—APP
