Saad Rafiq still in jail

BAHAWALPUR, Nov 21: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Saad Rafique could not be released from New Central Jail on Wednesday despite the acceptance of his bail plea in Lahore on Tuesday.

A case under anti-terrorist sections was registered against him in Lahore.

The Punjab government passed his detention orders for three months and shifted him to the jail from Lahore.

An official told Dawn Mr Rafique could not be released due to his detention orders.

Muhammad Ramzan, member of the Punjab Bar Council, along with other three lawyers of Lahore was released from the jail on Wednesday. Besides, three other lawyers from Lahore and one from Islamabad were shifted to local jails. Thirty-three lawyers have been released from here after acceptance of their bail applications by courts.
