MIRPURKHAS, Nov 18: District Naib Nazim Dr Zafar Ahmed Kamali said on Sunday that the district government was holding talks with kiln owners to bring down rising prices of bricks, which had adversely hit development and construction activities in the district.

He told journalists that he had held a meeting with the representatives of workers of brick kilns in which they discussed problems confronting the workers.

He would now hold a meeting with the kiln owners to know their problems. The owners, due to some problems, had increased the price to Rs3,000 per thousand bricks but the quality of a finished brick was very poor.

He would ensure that that the prices of bricks were reduced and their quality was improved after meeting with labourers and owners of kilns.—DoC
